Ivan Vassilev

Ivan Vassilev is Deputy Mayor in the Finance and Healthcare Department and has many years of expertise in the field of economics and finance, as well as in the creation and management of economic policies. Ivan Vassilev has worked as Director of Policies and Strategies and was a member of the Board of the Bulgarian Startup Association BESCO. He is a co-author of the amendments to the Commercial Law related to the creation of a new type of company – a Variable Capital Company, as well as of the amendments stimulating the attraction of highly qualified specialists from abroad. The focus of his work is the transformation of the country’s economy towards high value-added industries. Previously, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the first Bulgarian decentralized autonomous organization, Komrad Cooperative. Vassilev also has extensive experience in the creation of software products in the field of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. Ivan Vassilev has administrative experience as a senior expert to the Secretary for Health, Education and Science in the Presidential Administration between 2012 and 2015. He speaks English and uses German and Russian. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of National and World Economy.
